EA have clearly been busy refining the franchise over the years with each new iteration bringing a number of changes and tweaks, that on the surface you wouldn't make a big deal of. However, the sum of those parts together makes for an incredibly realistic and immersive football experience. There is very little else that has changed from the menu other than its background design. There is also an all new soundtrack for the game. The pre-game training arena has new training modes thrown in, which is enjoyable as well, but it does include ones that are currently in FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Coins. The EPL presentation is fantastic, and the changes to attacking and shooting really open the game up.
It’s dedication to a craft: recreating the fan experience of watching big time pro soccer, particularly the television viewing experience. EA’s gone above and beyond in this regard. In three decades of playing sports games, I don’t know that I’ve witnessed a game nail that aspect so hard. The gameplay issues can often be patched. What cannot is the lack of innovation off the pitch. Team Sheets — a brilliant addition where the movement and work rate of every outfield player on the pitch can be altered, offering management-sim level tactical choices — aside, the UI and single-player modes are practically identical to 14.
